Congrats to all the nominees for Best Original Music (Mejor Música Original) at the Feroz Awards!

Apparently the Feroz Awards are considered the “Spanish Golden Globes” - we often focus only on the American/British awards but there’s a whole dang world out there

This is an excellent explanation of why I choose to write in a partnership with Tom. Nothing unlocks a creative block faster than someone handing you a 🔑 to door you didn’t even realise was there to walk through. The magic of ending up somewhere unexpected is my favourite thing about co-scoring.

There are a number of reasons why great works by historical women composers aren’t well known and at the heart of the classical canon, even though it’s clear that they should be. One reason: exposure. There are decades worth of recordings by male composers, often in multiple versions.

This is a great quote from one of the most generous composers around
“Always be curious. Don't be afraid ever to ask questions. It doesn't matter what stage of your career you're at, you know, ask questions. If there's something you don't understand, ask.”
