I'm setting out my stall for 2025. I'm actively looking for freelance opportunities around:

🎶 writing music to picture;
🎧 providing production services for audio podcasters;
🎸 music collaborations.

If you'd like to have a virtual cuppa and a chat it would be wonderful to say hello.
The vinyl store is set up 🤘 More this week about the release of Little Stones. Have a lovely Sunday 🎄

I'm currently redesigning the website for 2026, and it means considering work to include. I created this audio series a few years ago as a response to people on what was then Twitter moaning about poetry. 1/3

Quick reminder of the rules for anyone playing Anschützageddon: the objective is to go the whole of Christmas without hearing Ernst Anschütz's 'O Tannenbaum'. Remember, remixes and covers DON'T count. Good luck!

Was very nice to listen to this documentary… very relatable, particularly, the realisation that you’re nodding and smiling during conversation, when you shouldn’t be nodding and smiling… and putting off getting hearing aids for so long…
A surprisingly lovely documentary in which Liverpool poet Paul Farley comes to terms with his hearing loss and the prospect of hearing aids. Also great to hear such Scouse phrases as “made up” and “give it a swerve” in a BBC doc. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

The nice thing about curating my own music collection rather than paying money to the music streaming overlords is that I can pay actual money to support fellow independent artists in return for their wonderful work. Looking forward to getting this album on for a road trip on Sunday.

It's a worry, but this might be the way we survive for a while. If you value a creator (or magazine) subscribe to them. You're helping to make them uncancellable and to keep their voice in the world. Anything dependent on advertising is vulnerable. (No Patreon here, go subscribe to someone you like)
This is a good time to remind you that if you love the shows and podcasts you watch and listen to, if you have the capacity to do so, support them on Patreon.

A recurring $5 a month Patreon or Ko-Fi pledge is the equivalent of you watching over 350 ads on behalf of your favorite creator.
I expected YouTube to gaslight all of the creators out there and I'm *still* disappointed.
