It's Not Easy Being Greene

MTG is out to prove she's nobody's Muppet, but she's stuck in a labyrinth of GOP drama as Trump calls a reporter Miss Piggy and threatens to take Manhattan. Should Marge go full Animal like Greg Bovino? Or team up with her boy for some Gonzo journalism?

UVA football is now 5-0 after bye weeks under Tony Elliott.

They are the only undefeated P4 team in such games during that time frame.

The Hoos next game after a bye? VT. 🤔

Folks - let them think this. I’ve spent 25 years doing campaigns - when you think like this after a loss like last night, you are doomed to lose again.
Mike Johnson: "What happened last night is blue states and blue cities voted blue. We all saw that coming. And no one should read too much into last night's election results."

*This* is the race I was most closely watching tonight - because Jason Miyares (and Youngkin) played politics with my now-12 y/o child, forcing my family into an impossible choice between his education and protecting his health. We had to sue Miyares in federal court and won. A short 🧵

I'll say this once more:

@kairyssdal.bsky.social, of public radio (APM vs NPR), giving daily lessons on putting things clearly and honestly.

Enough of this "falsely" and "without evidence" and "departure from norms" wiggle talk.

The man lies. Is deluded. Steals. And constantly breaks the law
He lied. Gotta use the word
NEW: Trump falsely suggested today that rank-and-file FBI agents fomented the Jan. 6 attack that a mob of his supporters unleashed on the Capitol, leaning into conspiracy theories as he accuses a second FBI director of committing crimes

This was after Colbert was canceled. Which was two months ago.
Not really an overstatement to say that the test of a free society is whether or not comedians can make fun of the country's leader on TV without repurcussions.

I’m getting a lot of replies complaining that “society” didn’t reject this, “Trump” did.

Sorry, folks: that’s society. We democratically elected a leader who is doing stuff on our behalf. This is the product of our society. We did this, “we” being the society that is the United States.
We figured out to *cure cancer* (ref: last year’s pancreatic cancer trials) and the Trump administration decided “nah.” That a society could reject a cure for cancer is astounding.
We could have had cancer vaccines, and instead the United States will contribute nothing whatsoever to mRNA research, condemning millions of people worldwide to unnecessary illness and death

‬ 10 months to say good-bye is going to make for EPIC late night TV. Of course, CBS will raise the ad rates and might make the show profitable again.

Tedious to point this out, but:

- When a tongue-tied Biden said "President of Mexico" instead of "Prez of Egypt," it was a several day story.

-Hours after Trump says whoever appointed J Powell made a big mistake (it was him), the episode appears not to merit a story on any national-media sites.
