2026 is the year we should all start reading books again

Books are lovely. Libraries are wonderful places. Second hand book shops are mysterious and magical. Markets and fairs always contain surprise gems. And there are even cafes in forgotten street corners with excellent coffee and reading nooks

Virgin Active decided to restrict changing room access based on 'biological sex'. We're acting for, and financially supporting, a non-binary transmasculine person and a trans woman who are suing it for breaching the Equality Act.

We've published the Letter Before Action.
We’re suing Virgin Active over their transphobic rules | Good Law Project
Last summer Virgin Active banned trans people from bathrooms and changing rooms across the UK – so we’re taking them to court

Just got a call from my brother. My mother has ‘just finished’ the Christmas ham. She thinks it may have been “a day or two over”.
Our portion didn’t see January.
No wonder we’ve got an aging population. That generation not only made millions on their houses, they’re also impossible to kill. 🍖

‘And Duncan's horses—a thing most strange and certain—
Beauteous and swift, the minions of their race,
Turn'd wild in nature, broke their stalls, flung out,
Contending 'gainst obedience, as they would make
War with mankind.’

Oh!
Another year, another list of shows I’ve watched.

Happy 2026!

Kicking off with Operation Mincemeat for the sixth time 😀
Brilliant as always. And this time I bought a book.
