I see authors sheepishly announcing books, or apologizing for good news.

Friends: we’re enduring an onslaught of censorship and bigotry. I am PROUD that you wrote anything. Please yell about what you're doing. Art is a fuel to keeps many of us going.
i feel like you should be allowed to talk about & promote your book for at least as long as it took you to write it

yes, yes, yes to my favorite spy!
Name a book you've read over and over (and over, and over) that brings you so much joy it hurts. I'll go first: Louise Fitzhugh's 1964 classic #kidlit book HARRIET THE SPY.

Honestly I find so much freedom in writing #middlegrade. It’s a chance to connect with my inner child, that voracious reader who needed worlds to escape into.

Alanna, Queen’s Thief, The Squire’s Tales. So many stories that I still carry with me #kidlitchat

Harriet the Spy -- still adore that book, even though I wince when they find Harriet's nasty notebook and they turn on her. I wanted to be a spy too but I was too much of a chicken.
As an adult, I fell in love with The Great Gilly Hopkins.
TOPIC: Tonight we're hitting the #kidlit classics. Can you point to the stories that inspired you to pursue a career in books for children? What about the ones you missed early on and have come to admire as an adult? #kidlitchat
