The only person currently in jail for the Epstein sex trafficking of girls to hundreds of men is a woman.

One of the men most deeply involved is still president of one of the most powerful nations on earth.

Yet when Christian pastors preach against evil they will still talk about trans people.

This incidentally is why true humility is a right reckoning and understanding of both your limitations AND power, because if you downplay or forget the latter, at a certain point you can do real harm and not even intend it.

I believe in redemption, because I have to. But it is not owed, to anyone, and some things are genuinely unforgivable. Some things are too far beyond the lines of acceptability to come back from. I'm not talking about mistakes: I'm talking about choices, patterns of behavior.

There are some great soundbites from @scimandan.bsky.social¹, but I think my favorite is toward the end. Flat Earth is dangerous, not because it's wrong about geography but because "it trains people to reject corrective feedback."

The message from the stars was very long and complex, but contained instructions how to decode and parse it incrementally.

There was an image, of a very cute furry creature. And a text, which loosely translated said:

"Send cat pics please!'

As an aside to the above note, just today I saw some dudes still seethingly furious about something I wrote in 2012, on how being a straight white dude in the US is the Lowest Difficulty Setting in the game of life. That's longevity in writing for you!

A great day to get Joanna Russ's "How to Suppress Women's Writing" from a local library and read it while you're striking.

It's short.

Everything she says about the erasure of women's voices from history goes for black, indigenous, brown, immigrant, genderqueer, disabled, and queer people, too.

I'm tired of judges stopping with repeated "warnings" to the bad guys instead of using their power, sending the US marshal over there, and perp-walking them to court. In cuffs and shackles.

We need action, not just words. Legal action. But action. We need enforcement of accountability.,

The "Police-as-Victim" Loophole:
Once the officer is classified as a "victim," they invoke Marsy’s Law to redact their name from the police report and blur their face on body-cam footage.
The law meant to protect vulnerable survivors is weaponized to shield state agents from scrutiny.

Hey Critters!

As a quick note, our usual 9AM PT rebroadcast will be postponed this Friday, January 30th, so that everyone at Critical Role has the option to participate in the Nationwide General Strike in response to the ongoing brutality seen across our country, but especially in Minneapolis.

1. Discovery is hard in any era of social media, and on any platform, in any time, ever

2. This is neither here nor there to my point that on your own site you are not subject to the whims of fascists and/or billionaires

3. These days it's actually really easy to start one's own site! (con't)
You started your blog at a time when people were still discovering new websites organically. The mechanisms are different now. While your sentiment is correct, the reality of people in the current tech era means that it is harder to start independent sites.
