when I told my mom that I can't stand hearing my given name because of the memories I associate with it and the schism I feel towards it now, she was upset because she put so much thought into it and told me not to call it 'deadnaming' because it makes her upset.

there is a feeling of detachment that I'm still grappling with when I talk to my family, having come out a little over a year ago as trans and not getting any actual change from them in how they act or respond to me. I have support enough to not get hate and bullshit about it but I feel like a husk

can't wait until I can be in an entirely different state and introduce myself under the name I want and never have to hear the one I've abandoned again. i feel like my reaction to it is ridiculous because it is as virulent and sharp as it is but fuck dude my family just doesn't care to even try

Blocklists are a feature with far far more harmful potential than genuine use cases. Straight up don’t use them. Curate your own experience as needed, don’t rely on crowdsourced moderation tools or callouts in an internet rife with bad actors and transmisogynistic social murder

Their one move: copy/create blocklists w/actual trashbags & Nazis then add (innocent, unsuspecting, non-trashbag) trans accts.

This is the next phase that Kiwi Farms members have stated they will do - constructing look-alike blocklists and then adding popular trans people to them after the fact, once the blocklist is seeded in the community. Make sure any block list you use says who runs it.
