35 months into 6 months away from AI taking my job and Google's own LLM can't write a Terraform expression that disables soft delete in object storage on Google's own cloud platform 👍

nixos is really cool until you have to place a jpeg and a html file into a directory accessible by a web server, at which point 20 condescending nerds with anime avatars converge on your location to smugly lecture you about derivations, the nix store and overlays in cryptic 5-word sentences

the greatest joy in life for me is skill building and I can’t imagine not having that. It’s unimaginable to my mind to want to immediately give up a craft because a tool exists. Were you doing it for the craft or were you doing it for validation?
it can be daunting, thats entirely understandable, but DON'T let the superhuman abilities of modern LLMs dissuade u from practicing ur sycophancy! yea u'll never be *quite* as good at it as claude or chatgpt or whatever but giving up bc of that is like writing off chess just bc we have stockfish now

can someone check in with anthropic ceo to see how this is going? just want to make sure we're still on track for our Q3 deliverable of 90% of all code being written by AI

i wish there was a middle ground of deploying web apps that sits somewhere in between "here's a $10 VPS, good luck" and "here's a proprietary system that locks you into our cloud offerings, 1 service is $20, egress is $15 per 100GB, no you can't set up budget limits"
