If your shop has AI art on the frontage, I will not shop there.
If your book has AI art on the cover, I will not read it.
If your album has AI art on the cover, I will not listen to it.

Pay artists, or learn how to use image editing and graphic design software yourself.

It's a business expense.

How delightfully quaint some of these old Devon village names are, their etymologies lost in the mists of time.

Nice to be reminded that this is a deeply unpopular regime.

some historians genuinely hate the term "Anglo-Saxon" and just call them "English". There's not really a distinction between the English then and the English now.

I imagine they'll solve it in much the same way they've solved the problem of him being somewhere between 30 and 45 since 1962.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Finished the last HER MAJESTY'S ROYAL COVEN book. Probably the schlockiest book series I've ever been genuinely invested in but I can't deny that Juno Dawson is a very effective character writer.

Boy, am I glad I graduated from university before AI. Having to subject yourself to absurd panopticon nonsense to prove your writing skills are the result of, you know, competence and academic skill, rather than cheating, is unbelievably bleak.

This technology is ruining lives.

In 2023, I published a short story about #GenerativeAI. I later took it down.

In this critical essay, I discuss my reasons for taking this action, and more broadly, the dangers presented by the rapid and widespread adoption of this technology on the promise of a techno-utopian dream.

Generative AI and the Dangers of Techno-Optimism - C R E Mullins
A reflection on an overly optimistic work of science fiction I wrote about Generative AI, and the danger this technology poses to society.

On 20 September, I had the immense privilege of attending the wedding of my two close friends, Nick Pearson and Jo Grant.

I had the honour of being asked to give a reading during their ceremony. They have kindly given permission for me to reproduce the reading here on my website.

Her hate thrives on your hype. It's time to let it go. Let the Boy Who Lived die. People's lives are more important than that woman and her middling fantasy books.

If you continue to financially support J. K. Rowling, after she donated £70,000 to an organisation which has stripped trans people of their civil rights, you cannot claim to be an ally to trans people.

I don't give two shits if you were excited for the Harry Potter show. Don't fucking watch it.
