Currently, I have them set as confessing and beginning a secret (more or less) romantic relationship around the end of Book VI, and Alfonse proposing to Chika many months, almost a year "post-story". 🤔

tbh I think Alfonse withholding information is underutilized drama for his relationships. wdym he’s out here every book figuring out the twist three chapters in advance, but then he doesn’t tell anyone else until the reveal
