So Emma-Jean Thackeray at KOKO tonight was lovely. Excuse my poor photo but I took it from the very back so as not to disturb other people’s enjoyment of the gig. #leastsubtlehintever

VERY funny that Labour are being pointlessly cruel and haemorrhaging support from their base and yet none of what they're offering is ever going to be enough for the people whose approval they're seeking, WHO could have predicted it

"money psychotherapist" ⛷️🦈
The fear of not having enough money is familiar. But there’s a quieter struggle at the top: feeling uncomfortable with having too much, says money psychotherapist Vicky Reynal ⬇️

Four decades back a major label released a debut album that sounded like almost nothing on earth while still sounding incredibly familiar. Our man in San Francisco Ned Raggett takes stock of it all

We had to stop watching The Twits because the bit where the idiots believe the obvious lies of the obvious liars cuts too close to the bone in Brexit Britain.

“There are some people who hate London, and hate New York,” Mayor Sadiq Khan told me, on Bloomberg TV. “There's a reason why they demonize London, and now, indeed, New York. Why? Because we are progressive cities. We are liberal cities. We are multicultural cities. And we are incredibly successful.”

National Trust types! It's AGM time, do vote for the suggested candidates & block the right-wing, 'anti-woke', mysteriously-funded Restore Trust, who are against eg rewilding and discussing colonial history / LGBT+ heritage (last week my sister saw OOTW in an NT shop, would it be if they had power?)

Went to see the Bluetones in Leeds last night. Not a band I ever really got into but a friend’s favourite band. Anyway - a great live band. Even the dreaded “new songs” were good. And like a lot of these bands brilliant in a (rare)extended groove.

100 Greatest Songs of the 20’s So Far #32 James Holden – Common Land
Released: 2023 James Holden's 2023 album Imagine This Is A High Dimensional Space Of All Possibilities had some self admitted antecedents in The KLF's Chill Out and Future Sound of London's more psychedelic wibblings, but unashamedly was more of an idea than a finished work. "A song isn’t the recording that starts at 0:00 and finishes at 4:32 or whatever” he told Mixmag in interview on it's release, explaining that music's only limiting construct was that of perception itself.
