So Emma-Jean Thackeray at KOKO tonight was lovely. Excuse my poor photo but I took it from the very back so as not to disturb other people’s enjoyment of the gig. #leastsubtlehintever

Probably not super environmentally friendly but tend to get most things off most things.

Went to see the Bluetones in Leeds last night. Not a band I ever really got into but a friend’s favourite band. Anyway - a great live band. Even the dreaded “new songs” were good. And like a lot of these bands brilliant in a (rare)extended groove.

Went to The Harder They Come musical tonight at Stratford East. In some ways better than the film and in some ways not. Here endeth the world’s least helpful review. Oh - but it’s great fun.

Bought this on CD having never heard it after a glowing 5* review in the Guardian. Felt unlistenable at the time. Should probably give it another go. Expect it’s great now.

So went to a 40th anniversary screening of My Beautiful Laundrette this evening at the amazing Cinema Museum in Elephant and Castle. The themes of racism, homophobia and gentrification don’t seem to have become as outdated as they should have done.

My only picture from (after) Water Damage Band @cafeotodalston.bsky.social tonight. I have no idea how long they played for but it was incredible.
