Every time the police here seize a bunch of drugs and post about it on Facebook, there is always the comment “Is this item still available?” and I think that’s great

I avoided egg nog for years because an egg based drink doesn’t appeal. Finally picked some up from Costco and it’s just Baileys someone has thrown spices in?

Fine I guess.

Every time we’re watching a TV show and someone is called Paul, either I say “but I’m Paul” or my wife says “but you’re Paul”

It’s a great bit and I would recommend it if you have a name which is said on the TV with any frequency

Thank you

I've just realised that the "lyrics" function of Apple Music is sometimes just someone else's guess

At least two songs now, their version _really obviously wrong_, they've just misheard a London accent

What use is that, I can mis-hear things just fine myself

Home Office inadvertently bans historical research about the Dunkirk evacuation.
I'd hate to be a boat owner after this passes.

Imagine all the information that could be be useful for your navigation but which would ALSO be potentially useful to those guiding small boats across the Channel.

Will the Shipping Forecast cease broadcasting? That, after all, makes crossings easier.

From a carol I'm singing this year;

"If you’ve any maids within your house, as I suppose you’ve none; they’d not let us stand a-wassailing so long on this cold stone."

This is a great insult from the 1840s, honestly.

I wonder if the leaked OBR doc publishing an hour early, likely due to a time zone mismatch on the server, will finally see the end of the time changing daylight savings nonsense, that would be nice

Someone clever at taxes please explain to me why Petrol/Diesel cars wouldn't also be taxed per-mile. Seems like a really strange thing to target specifically?

EVs already pay VED so no different in that matter

There's something very objectionable about buying IT accessories which are frequently thrown out as e-waste.

No, I can't find any e-waste for sale locally. Yes, it's probably worth the money. No, I don't like it.

Once again we have underestimated the quantity of sweets required for trick and treat, so the offerings are getting gradually stranger

We're now on microwave popcorn, sugar free Tango cans, and two raw potatoes

I suspect the potatoes will be a hit tbh
