Day one in Australia and I have seen three bin chickens, two horrifying spiders, and one shirtless man in the mall. Feels like a really well rounded introduction to the country.

The Cass Review is anything BUT "independant".
Anyone using it as such to justify decisions about gender-affirming care, cannot be taken seriously. That includes this fucked govt right now.

I had the privilege of presenting at two conferences this past week and it reminded me how important community is—particularly for marginalised scholars. Academia can be really isolating without institutional support and getting the chance to spend time with other queer ECRs felt so rejuvenating.
