Apropos of absolutely nothing in particular this morning ruminating on how my day job as land surveyor/cater waiter on a Central Ohio landscape entirely reshaped by Les Wexner was the prescient cartography of this film-as-book schematic. @twodollarradio.bsky.social

Great to remember amid so much justified disillusionment and despair. It's all still happening. In fact, in every medium.

“Good Vibrations” hits #1 today in ‘66.

“.. one of the greatest pop singles ever made,” said George Martin. “I remember thinking, ‘My God, this is the future of music.’ .. the textures, the changes, the sounds you’d never heard before — it opened up possibilities for every musician who came after.”

Absolutely elite level.
Anyone who’s see Matthew Lillard in Twin Peaks: The Return can’t honestly say he doesn’t have acting chops. Dude had to deliver a lengthy, batsh*t insane monologue all while blubbering hysterically and he sold the hell out of it. He’s a damn national treasure.

*Extraction of what?

Turns out we’ve engineered the soul after all—the one that the camera stole; the post-quantum soul simultaneously alive and dead—in our algorithmic extraction of it.
We knew all along that the Homecoming Queen was some kind of artifice engineered by a fraudulent order. For the satiation of which gods is the sacrifice made? In the end the gods of number, algorithmic coordinates of a timeline deranged for purposes of extraction.

Glad to know this exists! The Trinity Test episode is the single most astonishing hour of television I have ever seen.
Quantum mechanics unleashed the Trinity Test upon the American desert and the world. David Lynch's Trinity Test transmits that quantum state as the fabric of American cultural economy: I am dead yet I live. Timecodes Series Twin Peaks: The Return, Part 8 examines every minute of Lynch's masterpiece.

Performative “whiteface”.
Do the people at Fox actually believe their own bullshit - or do they know it's all just political theater and entertainment?

I'm honestly curious.

I feel like we have the opportunity to turn David Lynch's quote into this moment's "Keep Calm and Carry On" and it's a far better rallying cry too.
