Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Transphobes would have a lot less reach on here if everyone stopped arguing with them and quoting their posts to dunk on them, they don't give a rat's ass about your arguments and enjoy wasting your time.

How can England possibly be running out of water?
While famously rainswept, climate crisis, population growth and profligacy mean the once unthinkable could be possible

Hey crazy idea but. Maybe bluesky being ID required and X being a portal into evil is a good excuse to sit in a room and argue about things old school style

Well... bye then!!
Starting July 25, Bluesky will require users in the UK to scan their face, upload an ID or verify their identity with a bankcard.

I realize that platforms feel they have no choice but to comply with the government surveillance schemes, but shocking nonetheless.
Bluesky is rolling out age verification in the UK
Bluesky users in the UK can verify their age using their face, ID, or payment card.

I think its truly mad and a bit of a masterwork of counter intelligence(??) That people go straight to making memes about 'me going to prison in 2026 for my meme folder' rather than exhibit any appetite for resisting and combatting mass surveillance

You’d think someone might ask why distributing aid in Gaza has proceeded like the opening twenty minutes of Saving Private Ryan, every day, for weeks. Is it normal to fire machine guns at starving civilians trying to collect flour? Because we are currently at one, two or three massacres *per day*.

When u think about how the police unions in the states wield outsized power you can probably extend that to BAE and the military here in the UK. Palestine action being proscribed stinks of the MoD demanding the government do something and seeing as the govt can't even admit arms sales to Israel
