Texas suing the manufacturers of Tylenol because it supposedly causes autism is like watching the Keller/Satanic Abuse trial here 35 years ago. It’s absolute state sanctioned lunacy.

Oh look it up, it’s a jaw dropper.

Read the whole things, but some highlights:
- Their new median estimate is *5.5 million* people protested yday
- protest levels are 4x what they were in Trump's first term
- at least 12.8 million people, or 3.7% of the population, have demonstrated against the president since he took office
Good evening. We estimate that between 4.2 and 7.6 million people turned out for the No Kings Day demonstrations held around the country on Saturday. This makes Oct 18 very likely the biggest single-day U.S. protest event since 1970. www.gelliottmorris.com/p/second-no-...
Second "No Kings Day" protests likely the largest single-day political demonstration since 1970, with 4.2-7.6 million participants
Here are the initial results from our crowdsourced crowd-counting estimates

a key thing about vought — and all of these guys — is that they have a totally top down and hierarchical vision of the world. they believe that the cultural changes they hate can be turned off by destroying the federal government because they can’t imagine that they emerged bottom-up in society
What he’s railing against is a profound shift in culture, status… He’s obsessed with the idea that America is controlled by a leftist “ruling elite” - but “elite” isn’t defined socio-economically or by political power, it means something like: Getting to define “real America” and who gets to belong.

And the more privilege you have, the more imperative to resist and waste their time. Every second you take their time and attention is a second they aren’t hurting someone w less privilege.
A word of advice: Any time someone in a fascist-leaning regime says, "we can do this the easy way, or we can do it the hard way," make them do it the hard way. There is literally no benefit to letting them have it easy, even if you know they will ultimately get their way.

So many zombie houses in my neighborhood (I live in Galindo in Austin, work in Bouldin/Zilker). You know the ones -they got over-monetized during the pandemic opportunist flipaganza to the point that no one would buy them and they can only rent at a great loss so they sit sadly vacant. So wrong!

I went on vacation recently for the first time in 3 years and 3 months. A lot happened since the last trip including 3 years sobriety, a life changing auto accident, and the rebuild into my present kinda awesome form. The trip was great and knocked some dust off. Already saving for the next one!

I have a rule about donating/selling clothes that don’t fit, but I make an exception for designer, extraordinary one offs, some evening wear.

Imagine my delight at unearthing a stash of fantastic vintage suits, day dresses, and Italian separates in my attic…all in my current size. Gonna wear ‘em!

It's the classic authoritarian playbook: smear your opponents with baseless lies so that you can try to shut down peaceful, organized dissent.

We won't be intimidated. We won't be cowed. We won't bow down.

Sure, absolutely. Bill Burr, all those guys went to Riyadh to spread freedom of comedy the same way that the US invaded Afghanistan to bring feminism to Afghani women. Absolutely. For sure. That's why. You just keep telling yourself that.
