After a wedgie in the USC-Michigan game, John Fanta claimed it was unverifiable whether that was the first of 2026, but wedgies are (or can be, at least) recorded in PBP now! That was the 94th of the season and fourth of 2026.

FWIW I think we have pretty good reason to believe that even if we have a bit of a talent exodus from the D in the portal. BYU and Utah I'm fairly confident had worse talent than Michigan in 2025. But SP+ has them as 2-3 pts worse than Michigan under Wink.

Long 3rd conversion was just C3 but the weak safety was buzzing from deep into a hook zone looking to help the 3 receivers strong. 6 Buzz or Cross. But that left an LB hoping to get under Smith weak to take away the curl or dig and he’s just not gonna be able to get there.

Good example of why 1-high is so limited when both Smith and Tate are at 1 strong and weak.
Think in the red zone you have better options bc each safety can play flat footed and still fill run. But And Short removed that luxury.

I can’t get over how bad OSU’s backs are. Consistently getting exactly what gets blocked.

Looked like a Palms fire zone (a Wink and NFL fave this year) from Patricia on that 2nd down sack. Not sure if it was truly Palms but at least playing a shell there.

Miami has taken the flat over and over again for cheap yards knowing Patricia just does not run much C2 to the field or Tampa on early downs. Patricia will mix in C1 to take it away.

Mario is a horrific in game coach but his coordinators know ball. Think they’re still short on talent vs OSU but a smart plan is worth a lot.

OSU wants to play 1-high and if you can drop back and throw it at all you can move the ball. You’ll force them into coverages they play less and give yourself room to run too.
But you need a plan for getting explosives from bc you’re not scoring more than 20 in 3 and 5 step over and over.

Looks to me like we’re just running our early install O and D. Nothing wrong with that especially in the circumstances but it’ll mean Texas is gonna have a pretty good idea what’s coming the whole game.
