To be politically conscious from 2000-2009, and more specifically from 2001-2005, was to have your brain stamped with a feverish Curse of Knowing. So when you see shit like this, all you can think is “Dick Cheney insisting on links between Al Qaeda and Saddam”. You never forget the scent.

The Stephen Miller/Star Trek thing is an opportunity to point out that left-leaning ideals have been around, and popular, forever.

Gallego ("moderate" Dem) is going with "ICE needs to be totally torn down" (not "reform and retrain"). This is a pivot point for the country on immigration. You have been seeing this in the data for a while, and now officials are snapping to the public opinion www.gelliottmorris.com/p/ice-is-a-7...

This is the sixth death in ICE custody in 18 days. This isn’t enforcement, it’s a system that cages people, outsources care, and shrugs when they die. Abolish ICE.

maybe this makes me weird but when someone who irritates me goes out into the world and does a good thing, I find that to be a good thing

if everyone i found annoying was standing up to fight this, the enemy would have no chance at all

The fact that Gavin Newsom is even talking to the likes of Shapiro is a sign that he’s a non-starter. I’ve never forgotten how Shapiro said that Trayvon Martin deserved to die. Not fucking ever.
Ben Shapiro: "Israel did not commit a genocide in Gaza"
Gavin Newsom: "I agree with you."

How much more in your face can it be?

"Why are you asking me for my paperwork?"
"Because of your accent."
"You have an accent too."
"Where were you born sir?"
"Where were you born at?"
"Put your hands behind your back."

Trump ended US taxpayer support for a European ally fighting an imperial invasion - and then charged those same taxpayers additional tariffs to support his own imperial aggression against another European ally.

When Democrats folded in the last government shutdown—rescuing the GOP majority from itself and helping them pass a budget, giving validation to the Trump administration’s lawbreaking—the savvy politics knowers explained that folding was clearly worth it because it got the Epstein Files released.
No federal judge has the power or authority to make DOJ comply with the mandatory provisions of the Epstein Act, says Pam Bondi. It's unenforceable and meaningless. Essentially, DOJ is a lawless if not criminal enterprise, not a law enforcement agency, at this point.

the leaders of the civil rights era could not propose or veto legislation. they had no "power." but they had legitimacy because they were out there. Letter from a Birmingham Jail was written...FROM JAIL. But with these guys "Hey it's crazy right now and we can't do much, but give us money." LOL ok.

“Reform and retrain” ICE is some seriously weak shit. Call it laboratory liberalism. The data clearly justifies a more aggressive approach. “Reduce ICE funds and restore ACA spending” probably the most popular message rn.
What voter is moved to vote D by “retraining” ICE? Come on
