We don’t yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy. Michelle and I will be praying for Charlie’s family tonight, especially his wife Erika and their two young children.

This is an actual exchange from a VP who took an oath to defend the constitution and, as a citizen, is expected to abide by the law.

May we one day have accountability for the grotesque lawlessness of this regime.

AG Sulzberger insists that @nytimes.com has no politics. In his Reuters lecture at @ox.ac.uk he stressed the independence of his newspaper. The idea is that they are non-partisan, above the fray. It’s simply not true. That’s the most damning part: pretending your paper no viewpoint. 1/
How many credulous puff pieces did the NYTimes run on Chris Rufo, whose top assistant was a groyper who got his college Republican club sanctioned for tweeting about "GloboHomo?" Why would they participate in Rufo's racist BS panic about Claudine Gay that got her fired? bsky.app/profile/seth...
With Chris Rufo's former assistant now working comms at the WH office of OMB, we can rest assured that the amount of "gay race communism" coming out of that office will now be kept to a minimum.

Excellent piece in NYT (gift article) describing the research being funded by your tax dollars at one university (Harvard). The scope is large because it’s a huge institution, but similar research is being stopped at an institution near you! www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

What a contrast:

On the one hand, one grandiose spectacle in the nation's capital, a panorama of propaganda put on by an aspiring autocrat.

On the other hand, thousands of assemblies of free citizens across the nation, authentic celebrations of the proposition that here the people rule.

If you burn down a forest, you don't miss out on lumber for just that season. You have to replant all the trees, nurture them, and wait for them to grow.

The science and research budget cuts happening now are wanton, senseless arson. Recovery, if it ever happens, will take generations.
