‘Local’ doesn’t equal ‘sustainable’ when it come to food.
‘Local’ meat depends on deforestation-grown soy, the nutrient in the muck poisoning local rivers.

Air conditioners, SUVs, pencils.
All those pills back in the day.

The whole point of the BBC nowadays is to scoop up an audience to hose far right propaganda at.
You get your Turkish prog or whatever but only after hearing how the victims of genocide are the real baddies and refugees are your real enemy.

I don’t think it’s inappropriate to have some news stories about migration issues but it is very odd indeed for BBC 6 Music, a station essentially targeted at hipster leftie middle-aged people, to be majoring on asylum seeker stories as much as it does.
*Again* the top story on BBC 6 music is about immigration
How is Shabana Mahmood wanting to introduce a ‘Danish style’ system for refugees the top story this morning?!?
The obsession of 6 Music news on immigration and asylum is frankly bizarre

Listening to non-recent song lyrics complaining about the state of the world -
It’s like, fair enough, but also, it can get so much worse lol.

Products now are relatively cheap and absolutely hideous.
Like you can buy a new iron for £22 but it’s the vilest collision of tortured swoops you’ve seen in your life.

Being able to see exposed copper in the flex of the iron adds a dash of excitement, that ironing my shirts would otherwise lack.

‘Populist’ is a useful term, isn’t it.
It’s used both to frame far right politicians as being legitimate (it’s the will of the people!)
And left wing ones as being beyond the pale (dangerous mob rule).

The great irony of ‘remembrance’ is that everybody’s forgotten.
It used be about how war was horrific.
Now it’s about the same kind of jingoistic nationalism that causes wars.

Oldest selfie on your phone: this was on our honeymoon in 2016, camping in Norway (which was amazing, far nicer than Iceland).
Still my WhatsApp photo which I should probably update.

My antediluvian third hand laptop has so far taken 20 minutes to turn on and open a web browser.
Seemingly it needs to warm up like a 1950s television set.
I just want to watch the S4C programme about the fake beach in Pembrokeshire that smugglers made to hide drugs in!

Really need to buy a new (to me) laptop (off eBay) but it’s so confusing.

Why is my bike bell so much quieter when it’s wet?
Do the droplets spoil the reverberations?
Do the droplets jiggle and use up the energy that would otherwise be transmitted as sound?
Do any understanders of physics and/or music know?
