The project board for endorsing trusts meets in days. Exciting to see implementation metrics, retention, continuity of care, safer care coming from it.

In awe of organisation leaders and SAS doctors working together to get this done for patients, services and doctors.

We are incredibly grateful for the support of these organisations.

They are allies in our campaign to make the careers of doctors better, and we couldn't have gotten this far without them.

If YOUR organisation wants to join our campaign, get in touch.

We can accomplish a lot together!

These folks are awesome.

Trying to make the world a better place in their own time. My kind of people.
Had a fabulous meeting of the SAS Collective tonight, talking about how we can support the Trusts that have signed up to implement the change.

The #SASsix is about meaningful action to further the careers of doctors.

It makes sense to do this.

This is a really useful resource for anyone who still needs convincing that immigration is not the reason they can't get a training number.

An IMG applying to CT1 in my specialty has a 1 in 45 chance of receiving an offer, compared to roughly 1 in 3 for UK grads.

It has been fun but daunting, starting our from scratch on a new platform.

Thanks to everyone who followed us and engaged with us on here in 2024!

We hope you have a great 2025, and remember, a SAS doctor is for life, not just for Christmas (or New Year, or pancake day)!

An important thread for those employing senior doctors. Skills and competencies, GMC specialist register, Portfolio pathway limitations, employment parameters.
Lots of people have been asking about this, so in summary: being on the specialist register is no longer an absolute *legal requirement* for consultant appointments at foundation trusts. (I believe it is still a requirement for non-FTs under the AAC regulations.) However… 1/
Can you be a substantive consultant in the NHS but not on the specialist register? (apologies if I have misunderstood the post)

First time in a long time that I've done a Google search that only returned one result.

The search term: "SAS clinical academics"

(The one result: a tweet by @clujinmyheart.bsky.social pointing out the need for more support for such roles)
