Come on BBC, you have to do better than this.
#impartiality ❓️

Notice anything here?

The BBC doing a "Glasgow special" with the Tories (who have 1 Cllr compared to our 11), & TWO Labour reps. ❌️

The Greens are the 3rd party of Glasgow - time for the BBC to stop their bias for the parties of the past & properly reflect Glasgow in their broadcasting 📺

Inconsiderate pavement parking is one of my biggest bugbears - I've been pushing for better enforcement since I was elected 3 years ago! Pavements are for people not cars! Just basic manners. So frustrating #parksafe @eastsurreygreens.bsky.social
It’s been four and a half years since the Government consultation on banning pavement parking with still no outcome.

“For most people, being pushed into the road to walk around cars is not nice. But for some, that is literally putting them off leaving the house.”

Why our #votingsystem needs to change 👇

@greenparty.org.uk believes we need a better way to represent residents and provide hope - now more than ever!

With SCC & RBBC Green Group leader Jonathan Essex, and fellow Horley cllr Neha Boghani.

"First Past the Post forces people to vote tactically, which to me seems to undermine the entire principle of democracy." - @cllrchester.bsky.social

Young activist Amelie Abass spoke to three Green councillors about why we need to change the voting system.

Seeds and Science Sunday!

I've finally (after ~3yrs of neglect).got round to (re)starting on the garden, and this year we might actually get something planted.

It was also water-testing weekend, hence the pop-uo lab on the kitchen table...

@wtscotsocial.bsky.social is there a reason why these katkins are pink? (Sorry, I really should know more about trees!) 😁🌳💗
A quick pop out to gather some sunshine rewarded us with springtime riches, on the banks of the river. Glorious sunshine, and signs of life returning all around.

I love these pink katkins - are they are from a special mind of hazel?

You sometimes forget what beauty is just around the corner.. (especially in Horley!)

On the bus home (many a bemused look!) 😄

(Thanks to the Asian Social Group for organising and welcoming all to this event in Redhill - hopefully we'll have one in Horley next year!)

Ashlee, who has gone missing from Horley, reportedly has links to Greenwich in east London. She was last seen on Tues 11th March at around 3pm.

Apparently we should be "celebrating" the removal of these land management schemes.. they are so good that we are getting rid of them them?!

Hard to imagine less sense being spoken.. #facepalm 🙄

Farmers in my constituency and across the UK have been left high and dry by the government's shameful sudden cancellation of the Sustainable Farming Incentive.

No warning, no support—just chaos. This is no way to treat the people who put food on our tables.

Greens being uninvited to a meeting with Thames Water..🤔

Well at least TW are turning up to this one - they bailed out of our O&S mtg at the last minute after promising to be there for the last 3 months!
@eastsurreygreens.bsky.social
Dear @sadiqkhanlondon.bsky.social,

I was invited to join your roundtable with Thames Water.

Will you call for them to be nationalised?

Stopping us from being there isn't going to stop me asking the questions!

Love a bit of art/science cross over (welcome counterpoint to the news being so relentlessly grim) 💚
A blog on the gift of a painting, and how the tanker collision in the North Sea (and the two-plus oil and chemical leaks a week) underline that we need to move away from the fossil fuel industry as fast as possible. The govt is consulting on that now - please have your say.

Gorgeous crisp morning walk through Riverside; the ground frosty and the strong (almost) spring sunshine misting off the rivers surface.. the ducks were loving it!

We passed several areas of flooded woodland - this is actually a very special kind of habitat, celebrated by

I'm not sure if they're on this platform, but the Windbourne Singers' version of 'Song of the Lower Classes' is the perfect backdrop for this.

It sounds like a modern lyric reflecting today's issues, but actually comes from Chartists movement in the 1830s!!

Active Hope' was the resolution reached by our 'Citizens Assembly' at the @theatrecentre.bsky.social

Following the lead set by Andy Smith & #CreativeCrawley, we read aloud Andy's play then discussed how we can all work together to meet the challenges of climate change..

You may have heard about some of the draconian anti-protest laws that have been creeping into our legal system, but have you heard of the #LordWalney16?

They are a group of activists given prison sentences, by the infamous Judge Lord Walney, for protesting peacefully about climate change..

🚫 New oil and gas is not the answer.

Don't forget to add "that is why I voted against Heathrow expansion" KS!

Changing your mind for a good reason, based on solid evidence, is fine, but changing your mind for political expediency, less so...

Keir Starmer previously congratulated climate campaigners after Heathrow expansion was ruled illegal, saying "there is no more important challenge than the climate emergency"

Now his government says expansion is "badly needed"
