If you take the time to read the whole Gates memo (which I did), the bulk of the content was mostly solid and encouraging. Really!

I'm happy to report a new paper on how the menagerie of different heat stress metrics in use differs when calculated with ERA5 output. We find differences largely attributable to different weightings of humidity in the metric. More work to be done. agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/share/GJQTZX...
