The Republican president is a pedophile who has doubled my healthcare costs and let scores of violent criminals out of jail. But a Democratic mayor-elect wants to make busses free in a city I don't live in. I have never felt more politically homeless.

The Trump administration keeps finding new ways to signal that it is opposed to the essence of what a city is.

Recent immigrants, speaking their native languages, have been a normal part of city life for most of US history.

Here’s a story that’s becoming all too common: federal immigration agents using racial and ethnic profiling as a rationale for stopping, questioning and detaining U.S. citizens who they suspect are undocumented.

I'm a fiscal conservative, so why am I so down on DOGE? I had a chat with Jessica Reidl from the Manhattan Institute about DOGE as "spending cut theater." It's mainly serious about malice. It's not serious about the budget. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/05/o...

If the Biden administration had done this, it would be deemed proof of the Democrats' hostility to religion. But Trump is doing it, so his Christian allies turn against Christian ministries and gut their ability to serve the poorest of the poor. www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...

In a closed-door meeting, U.S. officials touted their success in “zeroing out” foreign assistance, but the downsizing has clipped religious allies, too.
