This.

It's quite deafening to to hear Labour and the PM say 'we need to deliver quicker'

Not really a good plan when you're delivering avoidable policy changes and people aren't responding well... But sure.. Continue as you were... 🙄🙄

#LocalElections2025
One Labour MP: It's all very well saying we've got to keep delivering. The problem is that it's the stuff we've delivered that people hate.

So much resilience, training, perseverance - for so many amazing causes

😆 So odd to see privilege presented as victimhood. Millions live in damp, overcrowded, insecure, unaffordable rented homes, with zero hope of ever owning. If you've already been able to buy, then inherit *another* house, 'having' to sell - cashing in unearned wealth - is privilege not punishment.
I assumed this was an unfair headline masking a difficulty someone was having (eg a house that she didn’t want and couldn’t use but was struggling to sell). But no, it is exactly what it says it is.

“…this has meant we have to put it on the market”: you mean the policy is working as intended?

This was an insane final to watch - worth staying up for! Credit to Bruce and Team Mouat on an epic win 🥌🏆

My favourite photo from the final end/victory has to be these two! An epic feat - and well deserved!

I know it's first world problems, what with am egregious President over the pond waging trade wars globally...

But..

My local dairy dropped the milk off at 10:30pm - and I hadn't had chance to put the empty bottles out!

Anyway, as you were!

I really don't understand how DOGE has unquestioned powers to decimate the federal state

Okay, sure, sometimes the state grows beyond it's need.. Fine. But take a metaphorical sledge hammer to Departments without much notice.. I can't see it ending well for US citizens

It is a national embarrassment that disability benefit is being ravaged for a £5bn saving cut - when tax millionaires just 2% on wealth over £5m would generate more than £24bn

Government has got this one wrong

One thing that's kinda jumping out at me about the #Heathrow situation

The minimal amount of resilience the busiest hub port in the UK has for situations like this

I'm no electrician or similar, but surely there's back up generators that kick in when the grid is knocked out?

Is the US some sort of living sitcom?

Trump has signed an executive order to dismantle the Department of Education - Linda McMahon is the administrator

Linda McMahon, the wife of WWE (wrestling) former chief Vince McMahon...

Good to see the #CurriculumReview published today - with some commentary around Post-16 education options, as well as comments on technical and vocational education

Two years in the making, now Greater Manchester has an integrated, fully public owned, transport system - with one fare system, just like London

When the Been Network idea cam about in 2021 as part of the Gtr Manc. Mayor Election - many laughed and said impossible

It was possible. It's done!
To mark this moment, we are going even further in lowering the cost of travelling across GM.

Our new capped fare structure will allow unlimited travel in all zones for less than £6 a day.

This is a brilliant interview from @lewisgoodall.com - it's painful to watch how the complete waffle from the Russian State is being pedalled

It's actually mind-blowing!
If you want a sense of what Starmer and Europe are up against in combating not just the military might but twisted truths of the Putin regime, do watch the full interview I did this morning on the Sunday LBC show with former Putin adviser Sergei Markov. youtu.be/JGqAknD3vyc?...

An ageing working-age population accounts for one-fifth of the rise in working-age health-related benefit caseloads.

All else being equal, we would expect an ageing population + rising State Pension age to increase this caseload.

'Eliminate the root cause of the crisis'...

Does Putin realise he's asked for himself to be eliminated?

Given the root cause of the conflict is Russian soldiers invaded Ukraine on the command of Putin...
NEW: At a press conference in Moscow, President Putin says Russia is in favour of a 30 day ceasefire.

But he says Russia has several outstanding issues, including (in his view) that Ukraine could use the time to rearm.

He says any ceasefire must “eliminate the root causes of the crisis”.
