Montana grad student. I like rivers, baseball, cats, and legal podcasts.
Todays legislative phone calls were furious rants that I just let fly. Maybe tomorrow I’ll try to be more strategic, but UGH so mad right now.

My oldest finally got me to sit down and watch KPop Demon Hunters. I do love that derpy tiger a lot now.

Also, *chef kiss* on the message about begrudging "acceptance" being toxic to actual coexistence.

Kindle says I read 119 books this year, but it only counts each one once, and I absolutely read several multiple times. I probably read a book a day, but not a *new* book per day!

Teenager, explaining why I should grant him an extra hour of Netflix time on his phone even though it’s 11pm:

2nd 3d printer is now in play, folks. BWAHAHAHAHA

Listening to playlists for a fitness class I used to teach. It was my major social group until Covid, and I’m getting choked up. I miss my people, and I miss feeling strong.

Middle child requested I 3d print these figurines for his gift to his younger brother. They turned out very cute!
December 25, 2025 at 6:28 AM
Yeah, I need another 3d printer. My To Print queue is always insane, and everything just got bumped because my teenager decided his xmas gift to his little brother was a 3d print.

I will forever be grateful that my family is awesome. Not only my dad & siblings, but my extended family on my dad’s side too. I get to not only love them, but *like* them and enjoy talking and spending time with the.

Paid entry fee so we can play the What Would You Do With A Billion Dollars game (aka bought a couple Powerball tickets)

Back on my bullshit (sending almost-daily @effinbirds.com postcards to my senators and rep yelling at them how they're bootlicking morons.)

Cathartic.

When your child who couldn't go to full time elementary school for almost 2 years due to meltdowns tells you about how he’s literally acing all his university engineering/physics/calculus finals and has the highest grades in his class, I feel like I’m allowed to get choked up.

Ziro didn’t send any filament samples with my last order! How am I supposed to get obsessed with a new gradient if they don’t send me samples?!?
December 9, 2025 at 6:00 AM
Inadvertently creating a chicken army while I try to find the filament I want for it and the right settings for that filament (the silk PLA one has streaks from different printing speeds)

We now buy the restaurant size chili crisp.

I've imaged my old workstation, now to restore it to my new workstation.
While that was happening, David and I braved Lowes to get some utility shelves and a larger floor mat and I organized/cleaned the mudroom. It's much less of a death trap now!

I'm way way too productive lately.

This is a ridiculous problem to have, but there are TOO MANY COMPUTERS in this house. Like, more than 2/person.

We’re doing our big thanksgiving meal tomorrow because my oldest has to fly back on Friday and was really sad he wasn’t going to have any days of leftovers. Thankful that the cold front has made my mudroom “fridge“ possible! Right now, the stuffing, green bean casserole and 4 pies are all prepped.
November 26, 2025 at 6:45 AM
It’s *finally* oversized hoodie-blanket time. It’s been way warmer than normal, but we got a cold front that seems to have reset us to regular winter this week.

@mostlybree.kitrocha.com i feel like I’ve seen a picture of filament organization that involves a rolling book cart, or something that reminded me of one. Was that you? I have too much to keep doing crates at this point.

Youngest kid (HS freshman) took PSAT in October, just so we could see where his weak spots were, since this is his first IEP.

Except there were no weak spots. He crushed it. Yay? But geez, this kid.

Impossible meat only comes in 12oz packs, but pretty much every recipe wants 1lb. Discovered I can finely chop
mushrooms/shred a carrot/shred raw cauliflower (depending on the final spice blend) and make up the difference without any complaints from the peanut gallery.
