NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

What a surprise-after posting yesterday that there was very little about Prescott or Hanover Communications online, @bylinetimes.bsky.social have been doing some digging and guess what? The so called independent advisor to the BBC is anything but…
🔴 The Pro-Trump Bias of the ‘Neutral’ Sources in the Leaked BBC ‘Prescott Dossier’

Byline Times’ analysis of key sources in the memo about the BBC’s alleged ‘progressive bias’ shows it relied on highly partisan, Trump-aligned organisations.

There are so many reasons to blast Patti Smith out of the speakers but here's one if you need it.

Happy birthday.

Seeing her perform just after lockdown was a cathartic heaving comet of joy.
Horses, the debut studio album by Patti Smith, was released #OTD 1975 by Arista Records.

The Planning & Infrastructure bill is a disaster.

It lets ministers overrule councils, scraps proper wildlife surveys, and gives developers a free pass to bulldoze nature. It weakens badger protections, ignores animal welfare, and lets companies pay to destroy habitats.

Profit over planet.

UK banking industry opposes tax rises, says it pays tax at the rate of 46.4%, and last year paid £43.3bn.

Absolute lie.

At best banks paid £23.1bn, corporation tax was only £8.8bn.

Banks silent on public subsidies they get.

Tax banks. End their subsidies
Why the banking industry is not a paragon of free markets, efficiency, or honesty
Despite making record profits and paying record returns to shareholders it resents paying taxes.

Poor ignored, don't fund political parties, bribe legislators, hand freebies to ministers.

1% have more wealth than 70% of the population combined.
