Photographing Red Squirrels in snow was today’s highlight.

Based in the Cairngorms National Park, we have been doing our best to capture the specialty species of the region including the red squirrels, crested tits, mountain hares and more.

Definitely next on my reading list. Large scale #ClimateChange effects on #Fish population levels.
A study of 632 freshwater fish species from 9,989 locations finds climate warming affects fish abundances, with increases at the poleward edges of species’ distributions and declines at the equatorward edges of species’ distributions. In PNAS: www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...

Morning, I really like early morning light during Autumn and Winter months for photography. The opportunities might become scarce, you just have to grab them when you can. #birds

Making baby kingfishers

Filmed at #RSPB Rainham earlier this year.

Two broods successfully fledged which was brilliant news.

🌸Two very different flowers Left is a Bee Orchid, it's intricate flowers mimic a female bees to attract the males. Right is Field Bindweed, its common and highly invasive. But in my opinion still one of the most lovely flowers in the hedgerow. 📸

📸Holme Park Fell & Farleton Knott are often seen but rarely climbed fells. If you travelling North, in the UK, by M6 they are the Fells on the right just before the Kendal junction. They are tricky to access but the climber is rewarded with limestone plateaus & wide panoramic views.

The middle gull is a Mediterraan Gull (now a common sight on Southend Seafront). It's slightly bigger than our Black-headed Gulls and it's head is black not chocolate brown! They also do not have black tips to his wings and have splendid red beaks.
