If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Star Wars (1977).
What’s that one movie where the guy is minding his own business and this group of thugs start hassling him but the don’t know he is secretly a great fighter and he beats them up and then says something snarky?

Donald Trump said “quiet piggy” to a female reporter because she dared to ask about the Epstein files, and as bad as that is, the fact that none of her colleagues defended her, is even worse.

A great performance by Meredith that shows off what a truly wonderful actor he was.
Burgess Meredith, born today in 1907

Of “Time Enough at Last”, he said: “I don’t think I’ve ever done any other project that people talk to me more about than that show. .. It’s gotten to the point where when they first approach me, I almost know what they’re going to say.”

BY THE WAY

If you've updated to Windows 11 recently, you're probably on version 25H2.

There's a new setting in Settings: Privacy & Security.

Scroll aaaaaaaalll the way to the bottom and you'll see "Text and Image Generation."

TURN IT OFF.

Going to watch all the Ernest films and the show because..........because.

Starting with this this weird looking film where Ernest was added as an afterthought in a cameo capacity. I'd never heard of this film until a few months ago.

Oh, my heart.
This is Archie. He's deaf and doesn't hear when his humans get home. Luckily, his little brother Frankie lets him know with a gentle nudge to make sure he doesn't miss the moment. 14/10 for both (TT: melissamilne)

I'm doing an article on SUNSET BLVD.'s anniversary. So I went back to the slideshow I presented at the Coolidge seminar I did back in 2023. I told a story I read about BrackettandWilder's inspiration for the movie. I forgot I had this slide taking a swipe at my least favorite filmmaker.

In addition to being a Tony winner + Emmy nominee, June Lockhart was also a Universal Monster! (Sort of)

She's heartbreaking as an heiress who fears she's been stricken w/ a curse in this moody thriller.

And Universal includes it in the WOLF-MAN Collection, despite its MARK OF THE VAMPIRE ending.
The late June Lockhart checks for signs of fur in SHE-WOLF OF LONDON (1946). Seeing all these tributes to Lockhart has been a wonderful glimpse of an incredibly varied career. #RIP
