please remember / be aware that 49% of covid cases are totally asymptomatic, yet any infection still causes cumulative damage and can create more chains of transmission (and thus, mutations).

which is why it’s actually pretty smart to just preemptively #MaskUp in shared air.
I really, really hope everyone posting about having a cold or the flu feels better soon, but I really, really, REALLY hope you're all testing for Covid. Even if it wouldn't change how you treat yourself, it could make a difference in how dangerous you are to others. Please test & isolate if needed!

Scariest Monster on BtVS? Many would say The Gentlemen, but I love them. They're so well done, I become giddy.

My choice is the parasite demon Gnarl from S7. Played by Camden Toy, his use of a sing-song voice & clicking of the nails gives me creeps every time.

I'm an excellent parallel parker.
If you see this, post a random fact about yourself.

From ages 10 - 14 I went to a school that only had 20 students! Ages 5 - 14. It was like being in Little House on the Prairie! 😂 And no, I wasn't in a cult or in some crazy religious situation. 😂

I've been doing the annual word for years, but never thought to incorporate a guide (animal or plant).

Now I've got something to shoot for.

@liantari.bsky.social The author of that awesome, scientifically researched, horror novel about mermaids you read? She loves insects too.
There is a thing that can happen to praying mantises, called "Peter Pan syndrome" by keepers, where they keep eating, keep apparently thriving, but stop molting while still sub-adult. This inevitably kills them, as they crush themselves inside their old exoskeletons. It sucks.

Since November I've been guided to return to "the basics". I'm a devotional polytheistic Druid who started in Wicca 25 years ago. My practice apparently could use a little more magic.

Finished this one today. Next up is "Treading the Mill" by Nigel G. Pearson.

I know of Terry Pratchett & his works, yet I've never gotten around to reading his Discworld series (only the stand alone "Good Omens"). Prime has "Hogfather" and it's a great delight. Death is a goddamn hoot.

Happy Hogswatch to all who celebrate!
