Not surprising considering my previous career. I did try to separate states I've never left the airport in from those I have. tenpages.github.io/us-level/us....

I have a few but the most memorable to my wife is when I took a round from an AK-47 in my side during my bachelor party.
What's the most ridiculous way you ever hurt yourself? I got out of the tub, skidded in water and tripped over the toilet. Ankle sprain.

I haven’t worked out all the kinks to share the code behind it quite yet, but my new Hugo workflow seems to really be working for me this time around. Here’s how I’m managing my Hugo content in 2026: chriswiegman.com/2026/01/my-2...

If the Bears could figure out how to play the first three quarters of a game they would really be unstoppable.

Oh wow. I found you can turn off all notifications in Bluesky sans mentions and you can turn off boosts on your entire "Following" feed. That has helped so very, very much.

I'm not too interested in making resolutions but I do think it's worth it to look ahead to 2026, especially following the "year of 2 jobs" that defined my 2025. I'm not sure what will come in 2026 but... I'm going to embrace whatever happens. chriswiegman.com/2026/01/im-g...
I’m going to embrace 2026
My theme for 2026 is going to be to embrace it. Here’s what that means to me both personally and professionally.

I put together a look-back post on my own site last night. It's been an interesting year in that it has been more defined by my job than any year I can remember. That's lead to some real good points and some I would rather not repeat. chriswiegman.com/2025/12/2025...
2025 in Hindsight
Here we are, the end of yet another year. 2025 was defined by work. It was interesting for me in that I took what many would consider to be a demotion but was, in fact, one of the better career moves ...

Thanks to the heat in our building (it's central heat and we cannot control it in our unit), it was 80F in our bedroom at 2 am. I didn't sleep well. Somehow, though, I still managed to get up at 6 and walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes and I'm pretty happy with myself for that.

My first experience with Andy Wier was reading Project Hail Mary a year or two ago. Now I’m looking forward to the movie coming out.

Today I finally watched The Martian, something I should’ve done years ago. Next week I’ll look forward to finally starting that book.

A co-worker at my last job turned me on to Gordo's Tamales by bringing some into the office just before I left last summer. We just ordered them for family this week and I added some tacos to my order for lunch today and... damn... best damn Chorizo tacos I think I've ever had!
