Welsh living in Yorkshire

Too many cameras, not enough photos

Ask me about aerochrome

Ask @natalyasmith.bsky.social about pickled goods
Pinned
I took the infrared camera out into the fog and got some of my favourite #aerochrome shots I've taken so far

The combination of the otherworldly colours, the ominous fog and the beautiful Welsh forest was a match made in heaven

Methods of distraction include wigging out over the hidden details of nature. Proven effective time and again!

Unrelated pro tip: There's only one way to host Thanksgiving, and that is to do as much as possible in advance.

You know how it is in Wales.

You get your phantom visitation an age-old horse skull with bardic powers, who calls on you to trade rhymes… but when it comes, you’re in Greggs.

This image of the Mari Lwyd on Newport/Casnewydd high street is everything.

Time for the first photo post of the year and all of these photos were taken on my first day at my new job!

Had some downtime before I started so I took a sunrise walk around Leeds

They're just going to ignore this and forge on anyway aren't they.
🚨 The UK government just published a breakdown of the responses to its consultation on AI & copyright:

- 95% of respondents want AI companies to pay for their training data (made up of 88% saying strengthen copyright law, & 7% saying leave it as is)

A #fridayfavourite that was shot on a Monday

This is during snow we had in November 2024. I only just got around to developing this roll, it spans nearly 10 months from Nov24 to Sep25!

I can't wait until I get served a 30s unskippable advert just to use my washing machine.

Check out this pincushion protea I found growing on the other side of the lake! It almost looks like something microscopic you'd find growing IN the lake.

The 2026 calendar is looking great and I'm excited to share, but had to take a time out to photograph this beaut first.

FUN FACT if you shoot snow using flash on an Olympus Pen EE the out of focus snowflakes turn square because of the aperture shape

Yes, they did remove herobrine

It's pretty much a year to the day since I was in the northernmost parts of mainland Scotland.

That holiday triggered some strange migratory response in me and I've been obsessed with going further north to Shetland ever since

Probably won't lug the large format along though!

The British weather is certainly ready with what appears to be infinite clouds
BOOM! Yet another blast from AR 4246 as it remains active on the Sun's farside. We see another big CME in coronagraph imagery, heading away from Earth. This active region will be peering over the limb in a few days and facing the Earth in about a week. Who's ready?

Paris, Texas meets Bradford, Yorkshire

If you shoot phoenix film without a fluorescent correction filter old tube lights will turn bright green. It's all a bit surreal.

People would literally rather burn down the ten trees and waste a swimming pool's worth of water for an answer rather than read a fucking web page and actually learn something.

The AI companies will have a lot to answer for

We climbed up into the clouds. These rocks are usually only around 10m above the slope below, but in this weather the drop looked like it could have been endless.
