I took the infrared camera out into the fog and got some of my favourite #aerochrome shots I've taken so far

The combination of the otherworldly colours, the ominous fog and the beautiful Welsh forest was a match made in heaven

A river with a small weir for trout and a lawn off the river bank. The photo is taken using colour infrared which renders the foliage in shades of pink and the water off the river a deep inky blue/black. Moss on the rocks sticking out of the river is also pink A photo of branches of a conifer tree in front of a path leading into the distance. Water drops are on the ends of the branch due to the thick fog condensing on them. There is a bank on either side of the path that is overgrown with vegetation and tree trunks at the top of the bank. The photo is taken in colour infrared in an aerochrome emulation so the vegetation is all pink

The statue is a tribute to and celebration of David Oluwale a British-Nigerian man who lived in Leeds and whose tragic death in 1969 was caused by two members of the Leeds police force. A modern tower in the distant left with a red tower block closer and to the right and a beautiful inky blue into mauve pre-sunrise sky. A modern tower being lit by the rising sun. This tower is called Bridgwater Place and when it was built, it contributed such a strong cross wind to a nearby road that it blew over a lorry. Check out this pincushion protea I found growing on the other side of the lake! It almost looks like something microscopic you'd find growing IN the lake.

The 2026 calendar is looking great and I'm excited to share, but had to take a time out to photograph this beaut first.

FUN FACT if you shoot snow using flash on an Olympus Pen EE the out of focus snowflakes turn square because of the aperture shape

It's pretty much a year to the day since I was in the northernmost parts of mainland Scotland.

That holiday triggered some strange migratory response in me and I've been obsessed with going further north to Shetland ever since

BOOM! Yet another blast from AR 4246 as it remains active on the Sun's farside. We see another big CME in coronagraph imagery, heading away from Earth. This active region will be peering over the limb in a few days and facing the Earth in about a week. Who's ready?

We climbed up into the clouds. These rocks are usually only around 10m above the slope below, but in this weather the drop looked like it could have been endless.
