Awful and clearly moved there on purpose. How about a new City ordinance?

"No property owner shall allow leaves from their property to be raked, blown, or otherwise moved into any marked bicycle lane near or adjacent to their property."

I have written a lot about the perils of poorly maintained (and leaf-filled) bike lanes. That didn’t stop me from wiping out in one just now, falling on my face and scraping up my knee pretty badly. This is a truly hazardous situation, @pbotinfo.bsky.social. When are you going to do something?

Shoutout to the City of Portland for running its water fountains well into fall. Nice stops for a long walk on a warm night.

Perfect fall day in the gorge talking e-bikes with the incomparable Megan Ramey @bikabout.com and the Oregon Micromobility Network through @thestreettrust.org.

It's almost as if we shouldn't have capped our property taxes at 3% annual growth over 1995 values. Excellent thread.
🍎There are 4 levels to the test. Level 1 is akin to getting D or F. Oregon has HUGE numbers of kids at Level 1 across all grades, including 49% of 8th graders in math. Half of all eighth graders are getting a D or an F in math? In what world is this NOT a massive emergency, OR?

Oregon law prohibits parking within 20 feet of intersections (ORS 811.550(17)), but @pbotinfo.bsky.social doesn't enforce it, leaving situations like this at NE 15th Avenue, a block from an elementary school, where there have been two recent injury crashes caused by an RV blocking a stop sign.

Excellent article about the urgent need to significantly restrict car traffic on neighborhood greenways. The bike bus and e-bike revolutions are underway, and the only thing that can stop them is cities failing to protect riders.

Good energy on the Tubman bike bus again this morning!

Spotted today on N Williams: a delivery truck parked blocking the vehicle lane rather than the bike lane. Didn’t think it was possible!

PPS plans to require students who live as far SE as Sullivan's Gulch (green dot) to attend Jefferson HS more than 3 miles away (yellow line) rather than Grant HS a few blocks away (blue line). How does this align with what I assume are district goals of encouraging kids to walk and bike to school?

Hey @pbotinfo.bsky.social can we get some help with this gravel on NW Cornell? Makes people choose between a flat tire and riding in traffic

No, Microsoft Outlook, I didn't change my name to Christmas, and don't not want to add "tmas" to my name every time I sign an email. I thought the robots were getting smarter?

Dirty Highway 30 living up to its name today, with plenty of gravel, glass and this screw that impaled my back tire. Bike lane debris is as bad as I’ve seen it lately. Anybody know how best to request a sweep from ODOT and @pbotinfo.bsky.social ? Marine Drive out to Kelley Point pretty bad too.

Google mistakenly saying Class 3 e-bikes aren't allowed in bike lanes is yet another example of negligent misinformation, but at least gives me some hope I won't be out of a job anytime soon.

Hello, and nice to be here. I am a lawyer in Portland who advocates for injured people, including bicyclists and pedestrians. I wanted to share some common issues my clients, or people I talk to about potential cases, wish they had know before getting into a collision.
