Annual reminder that it’s called Cyber Monday because we kind of didn’t used to have internet at home, at least not high-speed broadband. So you’d spend the morning at work, on your “lightning fast” 1.5Mbps connection, exercising the still-new novelty of buying stuff online.

I’m going to ask, against my better judgement, an earnest question. For literal decades, people have been stealing—and that is the right word—Google Images results (or similar) for many, perhaps most, presentations. Was this practice similarly confidence-destroying? Why or why not?
I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

Not exactly what I wanted to hear with my trust in Hawley dipping a bit after Alien: Earth.
Far Cry TV series ordered by FX from Noah Hawley and Rob Mac

"the series will follow an anthology format like the games and feature a different cast and setting each season"

Now that I think about it, I would also watch a miniseries with Michael Shannon playing Garfield and Matthew Macfadyen playing Odie.

It’s still remarkable that Disney produced - and released - this segment in 1940. A horror short that should rank with its Universal monster movie contemporaries… The animation is lush and experimental, and really shows off the Disney special animated effects team…
