Because I am an idiot I decided to photograph all the (visible from the street) Georgian doorways of Liverpool's Rodney Street with a 60 year-old Olympus FT camera. Turns out the half frame format of the camera goes well with the shape of the doors. #believeinfilm #shootfilmbenice

The Pellicle Essential Guide to Pub Ettiquette!

Already noted as curmudgeonly by @boakandbailey.bsky.social, we prefer "righteously bothered."

Table rezzies, bogey-filled tissues in empty glasses, rounds and more, all documented for posterity.

The Essential Guide to Pub Etiquette — Pellicle
It was the writer and politician Hilaire Belloc (1870–1953) who famously said, “ Change your hearts or you will lose your inns and you will deserve to have lost them. But when you have lost your inns ...

What's it like to return to your home town years after leaving?

This poem from Whatever You Do, Just Don't finds that nothing's changed. But then everything's changed too...

Just got back from a very wet, very dark, solitary walk over the fell while listening to Patricia Routledge reading Wuthering Heights. The words "Let me in!" have never sounded so scary as when stumbling around in a bog in the dark and rain.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

If anyone has people in their network who work in charities which deal specifically with issues of rural poverty I’d be grateful for any connections. Not rural homelessness, although I appreciate there’s a crossover. Scoping out a possible follow on to Outsiders focused on this subject.

On Sunday 12 October, we invite you to experience ‘v.’ with us:

After that giant eye I've been reminded that I have a history with advertising and Liverpool. This is from 2015, when half of Lime Street (in the reflection) was for sale and due for demolition. #Liverpool

Photographed earlier tin the summer, this reminded me very much of the eyes of Doctor T. J. Eckleburg in The Great Gatsby, only in this case the giant, staring eye welcomes travellers from the train at Lime Street Station. I think it's a cosmetics ad. #Liverpool #BelieveInFilm
