Age verification? I went with my mom to the Bell store to buy our first new-fangled touch-tone phone.
Age verification? I got to see Superman the Movie in the theater for free because a poem I wrote about the planet Krypton won a contest they held at Kaufmann's department store in downtown Pittsburgh.
Age verification? The definitive pop star, the performance and musical standard against which I subconsciously judge all others, is a guy with a stripe painted on his nose dressed as an 18th century bandit yelling “fa-diddly-qua-qua”

Reminder, Sports Fans: Bad Bunny is from Puerto Rico. He's an American citizen. If your only objection is that some of his lyrics are in Spanish, that says more about you than about him.

I'm guessing you're just jealous that he speaks more languages than you do.

Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work.

"You can direct the calls of all the people who notice that to me."
Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work.

"It depends"

Spent a delightful morning at Gallifrey One. There is no more welcoming and positive a crowd than at that convention. I'm already looking forward to next year, hopefully to stay at the show longer and enjoy even more. #Gally

Top Shelf Friday time

What's a comic in your collection that you think deserves to be on that top shelf? Whether it’s a key, rare, or just one you love ❤️

Men of War 13, featuring Ulysses Hazard aka Gravedigger. Need to get back to buying this whole series.

I had a similar recent-ish conversation with an older writer/fan. I assure you people are still flirting and/or hooking up at conventions. Requiring consent is not a problem when all the parties actually, you know, consent. Also, if your flirting looks like harassment, the problem is you.
I was on a panel once, about flirting; one of the panelists; who was a fan in the 60s, was explaining that These were the "good old days and nobody minded, because it was all in good fun, and today you can't do anything" and she missed that

The rest of us were just agog at the levels of disconnect
Folks outside SF/F don't know that Asimov was a sexual harasser because while he was alive fandom thought it was cute (up to and including Asimov being invited to give a lecture on "The Power of Positive Posterior Pinching" at Worldcon, which he, wisely, declined).

Why do comic creators self-promote all the time?

Because we have to.

Even working with a publisher that's supportive, press only goes so far. The rest of the success falls on the shoulder of the creator rallying their fanbase.

So here's mine. I'll RP yours.

My toddler grandson enjoys my mock exasperation when he tosses a group of stuffed toy owls off of my couch as I cry, "My owls, my owls!" so much that he now replicates it with any group of tossable objects, shouting their names as he heaves--My owls! My cars! My toys!

Today we went to a ball pit.

introduce yourself with the name your parents almost gave you

My mom was afraid I would be made fun of and changed her mind, so I have no middle name, but I do have a lifelong connection with a bear of very little brain.
