Ahem, you don't need Substack.

There are other options out there. I built my site for $33/month and own everything in an era when platforms come and go or say, accept Nazis.

Indie comics folks—distribution question:
I have a couple of new books coming out this summer and fall. It’s been some time since I last solicited through a distributor—who’s the “new Diamond” in comics or book distribution these days? 📚

I've posted about alot of Black comic creators this month. Ted Shearer, who created Quincy. Morrie Turner, who created Wee Pals. Brumsic Brandon Jr., who created Luther. Jackie Ormes, Chester Commodore, & more. One thing they have in common is that none of their work is in print. #BlackHistoryMonth

Sad to hear that Shelly Desai has passed. He was always great as Hwang in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and dozens of other roles. I saw him once on a Sunday at Buffalo Wild Wings, rooting for the Jets, I think.

Modernizing The Rockford Files: Still uses a desk phone, but it’s connected to a magicjack that’s also linked to an app on his cell phone, so he can give out number without giving out his cell number. Also, second product placement opportunity.
Modernizing The Rockford Files: instead of printing business cards in his car, he quickly codes a fake website on a laptop. Possible Wix product placement?

I can't believe David Boreanaz was cast as Rockford. I mean, c'mon

Just saw that Tim Seeley is cowriting a book with Ryan O’Nan. I was a fan of his acting on Big Sky, but I’ve never read his writing.

Art by Paolo Armitano, colors by Roman Stevens, letters by Dave Sharpe.

TIL: 1. Space burials are a thing, but not in the floating-coffin/journeying corpse way I had imagined.

2. They have been available since 1997.

3. The first person buried in space was Gene Roddenberry, in 1992, on the Space Shuttle Columbia, though his remains did not stay in orbit permanently.
