Donald Trump’s push to secure peace in Ukraine must not let Vladimir Putin escape accountability for war crimes committed by Russian forces, a top EU official has warned — effectively setting a new red line for any deal.
EU tells Trump: You can’t pardon Putin for war crimes in Ukraine
Any move to “wipe the slate clean” for Russia in a peace deal would be “a historic mistake of huge proportions,” the EU justice commissioner tells POLITICO.

Regrettably true. The EU needs to become a much bigger player to counteract Russia, China and Trump.
OPINION: The intense diplomatic maneuvering to end the war in Ukraine has revealed a troubling reality: Even when it comes to its own security, the EU struggles to be a central player.
Europe’s psychology of weakness
It’s time the EU ditched its failing strategy of “react, hope, repeat.”

We now have an unprecedented level of income & wealth inequality.

It isn’t acceptable that the top 1% owns more wealth than the bottom 93%, while a majority of Americans live paycheck to paycheck.

We must stand together & create an economy that works for all, not just the few.

Pure terror bombing in other words. I knew it would happen. Russia is a barbaric country so why wouldn't it drop cluster ammunition against civilians.

First, the drones dropped cluster munitions over the city, then hit residential buildings.

Shovel-ready Luas and Dart projects delayed “to free up funding for more roads”
The Government is delaying shovel-ready public transport projects such as Dart+ South West and Luas Finglas in order "to free up funding for more roads", the Green Party's transport spokesperson, Cllr Feljin Jose, has claimed. He said that this is a "disaster" that large new areas of housing in Dublin -- including a development of nearly 900 homes approved in Adamstown today and the major housing project at Poolbeg -- were being left without the promised transport links, forcing more people into cars on the capital's congested roads.

This is an absolute disaster. Taking away money from ready-to-go public transport projects so that they can chuck more cash at new roads.

The exact opposite direction we should be going.

(Plus: the more you delay projects, the more they cost. Every time.)
DART+ South West is shelved until 2030. It has full planning approval since 2024, no judicial reviews and is ready to go but construction won't start until after 2030. A lot of housing around Adamstown and Clonburris built in anticipation of this upgrade.
