A classic resurrected two decades later with some neat QoL features but its oldschool, punishing difficulty might not appeal to everyone

Feels a bit cut-down to some degree when compared to BF2042, but it's a mix of the same old (modern) Battlefield with some little (but welcome) QoL features.

Each year I take a moment to reflect on all the awesome talent that has covered and remixed PC game music and then share some of my favourites. Sadly, there's been a marked increase in AI slop this year but thankfully there's still a lot of genuine talent out there.

A charming, oldschool shooter that's still pretty challenging and best played with a friend.

Pretty faithful to the Netflix series and even has a similar gameplay loop to the original games but not many cities are available to visit and clues can be somewhat uninspired.

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Choicest Games Top 100, I thought why not do a revised one. There's a lot you'd normally expect on a Top 100 list but there are a few you probably wouldn't too.

I have a bad habit of coming up with what I think are neat ideas but not quite realising how much work is actually involved until it's too late. ALMOST finished a 10th anniversary edition of a Top 100 PC Games for the blog, but looking at the 14,000+ words now and questioning my life choices!

Quote with 5 games in your backlog!

- The Outer Worlds
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Outer Wilds
- Psychonauts 2
- The Witcher 3

(And what do you mean only 5 games? Can't I pick 100? 1,000? Anyway, I've picked ones which I'm sure to shock others 😄)

Interesting article especially for those that review games. Talks about how imperfect a scoring system is and how writing reviews can very much be influenced by real world events at a certain time and place.

Anyone listen to a composer's back catalogue and are amazed how diverse it can be? For example, Trevor Morris is probably well known in gaming circles for the Dragon Age Inquisition OST but did you know he also did this 80s infomercial style track from SimCity Societies?

PC Gamer Top 100 is out for this year. It's been 10 years since Choicest Games did a Top 100 and am inspired to do another, PC Gamer style (with some weighting on uniqueness and importance of titles). Will probably use 7+ / 10 titles rated on the blog as it gives roughly 300 titles to start with.
