Does anybody else get strong Quest for Glory 1 vibes when visiting the Adventurer's Guild in Stardew Valley? There's even an old guy snoozing in a rocking chair by the fireplace called Gil that reminds me of Wolfgang... now makes me wonder if Eric Barone ever played it...

When Baz in Cook Serve Forever starts talking about birthday cake designs, it reminds me of that old Australian Women's Weekly recipe book which also features a duck, swimming pool and train. Surely not just a coincidence?

Yeah might as well do one of these. I've played hundreds of games so it was tough to choose and I no doubt missed some but I think this list caught some of the big influences on my life

Thanks to the Internet Archive I can go back and read now defunct PC gaming magazines like PC Review and reminisce about the time I saw my name come up in Issue 38 (Dec 1994). The folks were probably surprised to see some expat kid living in the UAE was one of the competition winners!

I've already got a huge Pile of Shame but it's just the tip of the iceberg as it doesn't list a couple of itch.io bundles with hundreds of games I purchased a few years back. I finally tried out Baba is You and wish I had tried it out sooner! So far loving this charming and clever puzzle game.

Camels are so OP in Civ 7 Antiquity age. Grab a couple of these resources and it's easy street to an Economic Legacy Path.

Take the fictional characters quiz and post the first four you know: openpsychometrics.org/tests/charac...

Decided to take this test that everybody else is doing and yes, I get it, I'm a nerd 🤓

There you go. This is probably the most accurate way to pronounce "Karateka" but Mechner goes on to say it doesn't matter how you want to pronounce it, the two most common ones you hear being "Care-a-TAKE-a" and "ka-RAH-teh-ka" (at least in the English speaking world)

A famous gnome inventor called Alfred Nabel who worked in the field of explosives? They're really not even trying to hide the reference here are they? :P

Share the last 4 games you've played and expose your gaming habits!

(Since I play games with my kids or off my backlog, these games aren't actually reflective of my favourite games but does show the range of games I play!)

Starting another playthrough of Dragon Age: The Veilguard and introducing Mykros Thorne. Just as it was with previous Dragon Age games, love how having certain backgrounds (in this case Grey Warden and Dwarf) opens up different conversation options, trivia and choices.

So I finally finished Veilguard, and wow, the endgame with its twists, multiple choices that have an impact on how the story ends, is great although DAI is still my favourite in the series when it comes to the epilogues... /1
