Yes, we need @duckworth.senate.gov and @quigley.house.gov talking about this. You can’t reform this
we have got to destroy ICE and salt the earth

I will not vote for any federal candidate who doesn’t vow to abolish ICE

I will not vote for any state or local candidate who doesn’t agree to fight ICE

This infuriates me on numerous levels.

First, that man shouldn’t be held by ICE.

But how can his wife think, based on what they are doing to her husband, that there is any fairness to the process whatsoever?

We don’t regulate cars in the US but this should be a law here too
China is bringing the hammer down on hyper-fast EVs, setting a minimum 5 seconds for accelerating from 0 to 100 KMH (62 MPH).

For context, the Rivian R1S hits 60 MPH in 2.6 seconds, as does the Tesla Cybertruck in "Beast Mode." (H/t @reillybrennan.com)
China mulls limiting cars' default performance as EV crashes frequently occur
China plans to require passenger vehicles to default to a state where acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes less than five seconds upon each startup.

Lots of agents about to find out that they are not above the state laws
But the story changed today, as we learn the gun-brandishing lunatic terrorizing teenagers is an ICE agent.

No word on whether he still would've been arrested if he'd been on duty. We can only hope so.

The UK has tap-in, tap-out on long distance trains before Metra does on commuter trains. Hopefully our new regional transit administration will right the ship.
Part of the government’s work to make rail fares and tickets more convenient, accessible and flexible, as we move towards Great British Railways, is seeing better technology for tickets rolled out.

Today's announced sees tap-in/tap-out installed at 50 stations across the South East of England.

Simpler train travel to London airports as tap-in, tap-out expanded across south-east England
Buying tickets will be more convenient, more accessible and more flexible, ensuring passengers can get the best fares.

Forcing people to see what Republicans are actually doing is a great way to get people to not vote Republican. And makes it hard for people to ignore that might otherwise not see it.

“Short bursts indicate an ICE sighting. Long whistles indicate agents making arrests. If you hear the whistle and you’re undocumented, said [Whitney Hu, a community activist and organizer with South Brooklyn Mutual Aid], ‘you hide. And if you’re somebody who’s not, you go to the street.’”
As ICE Street Raids Ramp Up, New Yorkers Stock Up On Whistles
Taking a cue from Chicago, community groups have distributed thousands of whistles in recent weeks — a grassroots system people in other cities have adopted to help neighbors sound the alarm.

Remember those national guard troops sent to Chicago by Texas Gov Greg Abbott? They went home after sitting at a suburban training facility doing nothing for a month. Abbott's little stunt cost taxpayers at least $12M. What an abuse of power.

In the city, the people on that route don’t just not care about transit, they are actively against it. They literally believe murderers will take the bus to rob their single family houses.
Harlem Avenue could be one of the most productive city-suburban bus routes ever if we ever stopped arbitrarily designing bus routes around city/suburban boundaries
Do you ever think about how the bus route that connects with the MD-W, UP-W, Green Line, Blue Line, and BNSF, and also is almost always a Top-5 Pace ridership route, ends in a random parking lot instead of the CTA rail terminal and international airport three miles away? Because I do, often

What Trump has accomplished in the Chicago area is a dramatic increase in distrust of the federal government and widespread disgust toward his masked, armed thugs. On the plus side, it’s brought Chicagoans together in defense of their neighbors and in opposition to a would-be dictator.
