NiGHTS canonically uses any pronouns but personally I prefer they/them because they were the first character I ever encountered that was outside the gender binary like that. It was an instance where I was like oh....you can do that.....wow

I forgot to follow up on this but Predator Badlands was EXTREMELY good and Dek and Thia are married with a child
it's true that there are implications when it comes to human woman/monster man and there need to be projects where the roles are reversed but I still eat it up every time so.

I think at the end of the day the problem with the Eltarians in Prime is while there is some attempt at nuance, it's inevitably going to feel weak when our main example of a "good" Eltarian is outright stated to have been raised Earth away from Eltarian culture and his arc is rejecting it further
Yeah, I'm not gonna lie, this is one of the many reasons I have no real interest in Power Rangers Prime.
I'm so damn sick of "heroes fighting each other" and "let's make the Eltarians evil tyrants even though we wrote them in a far more nuanced manner in our previous PR books".

And yeah they ARE portrayed as the bad guys in the main book but the problem with that is I just don't see a world where they don't end up redeemed to face off against the REAL bad guys, the Eltarians! (that we were 100% complicit with in enforcing their rules)
