I suspect aggressively, it did. Having studied the era in film and literature…people are always people, they know what's going on, but they also know the degree to which they are allowed to discuss it overtly…diminishing returns.

There is much ill to say of the police in this nation. None of it is to be said of the people who serve in these positions. These are true heroes, who deserve our respect and even reverence; these individuals really do protect our communities from the acts of madmen—albeit, only ever after-the-fact.

— voters got false information about candidates
— bad actors encouraged people not to vote
— anonymity protects but is also a vehicle for disinformation
