So, each episode of #ThePitt is one hour in a shift in the ER of a teaching hospital. It’s a show about the labor of healing amidst crisis. It’s intense, stressful and — I think — important.
Have been told I'm missing out on this show

I wrote an essay about menopause, writers block, and being a late bloomer. You can also find it in the newly released anthology, The Big M, edited by Lidia Yuknavitch: electricliterature.com/menopause-wr...

It's v exciting to see Mamdani make affordable childcare so central to the conversation about improving the city — it's part of the reason I loved Elizabeth Warren, that she was so clued in to childcare not as some girly side ish but a key economic factor, linked to labor & housing & everything else

Every time something like this happens, I am reminded due process matters even in a flawed and unequal justice system. Law-enforcement officers are not the justice system. And part of their job is to deal with the public. It’s striking, how many of these people lead with cowardice and blood thirst.

It’s been a pleasure working with Lex and everyone in the politics vertical at Teen Vogue. I’m heartbroken that my column, Disability Visibility, is gone. Teen Vogue was one of the few places that published disabled journalists regularly. I just spent the last 2 months working on my next column
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

Disabled kids like mine rely on Medicaid to survive; this bill cuts Medicaid.

I don't know how else to say that medically complex disabled children will die as a result of this bill.
