Anyone on #chemsky have thoughts or insights into fully remote jobs that still live in the process development chemistry realm? May potentially need to transition to a remote position next year and trying to plan ahead

@borderlands.2k.com Will Borderlands 4 eventually add support for being able to buy a copy on PC and be able to play the same saves/characters from an Xbox or other console?

much like drugs it's unfortunately only a temporary fix
The only thing I find therapeutic about Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is watching people shouting at him as they call out his lies to his face.

If the troops were sent to march through MacArthur Park to film propaganda videos, I hope the new "they got Capone for his taxes" becomes "they got the fascists for not having film permits"

Anyone have insights on translating an organic chem PhD and 7+ years of process dev chem experience into a remote job field? Staring down the potential of moving to an area (for 4 yr) where the closest process dev joint will be pretty much out of commute range.

SO YOU'RE TELLING ME THEY WERE MISLEADING WHEN THIS KERFUFFLE ORIGINALLY CAME OUT AND THEY SAID "DON'T WORRY GUYS WE'RE WORKING ON IT NOTHING TO SEE HERE, PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN" ?? ? ?
Just for no reason comparing the topics in the Inclusivity section of the ACS Guide to Scholarly Communication from 2024 to the current ACS Inclusivity Style Guide (since technically the Inclusivity section was removed to a separate source).

I have a PhD in chemistry and I do productive work with my hands all day. I use a pallet jack like once a week. I haul around dewars of liquid nitrogen and gas cylinders. I was emailing someone about a gantry on Monday.
Educated people often miss the fact that many people want to do productive work with their hands. It is a real problem that we don't have many desirable jobs that use those manual skills.

Yet another extremely stupid and destructive move appears to be underway. Those people who advised me to calm down, that everything was actually going to work out fine, know what they can go do with themselves.

They should have accepted this at least 10 years ago
Democratic leaders must accept you can’t appease a fascist authoritarian. When the political purges start, perhaps they can compromise by only being half-arrested in the middle of the night

Well you're certainly delivering on Goal 2...but not in a good way.
ACS is using the language from our core value of inclusion and belonging. We invite others to do the same. Learn more here: www.acs.org/about/strate...

Ditto.

Though I have most mugs through C. But my membership lapsed and I have no interest in re-upping
I slightly regret removing my recent comment about @acs.org.

To reiterate, I remain glad to no longer be an ACS member, I will not rejoin for a very long time & unless their attitude to inclusivity changes, I will not attend or speak at ACS meetings either, and they never sent me mugs other than H!

RFK Jr on the measles vaccine: "There are adverse events from the vaccine. It does cause deaths every year. It causes all the illnesses that measles itself cause."

SURVEY SAYS: DELUSION!
‘There’s a huge opportunity with this administration, I think to ... unleash much more of our intellectual capacity in this country through regulatory reform’ said meteorologist Kelvin Droegemeier, who served as science adviser during Donald Trump's first term.

White House is 'very keen' on rolling back administrative workload and that could serve researchers well, Kelvin Droegemeier claims

If you support any of this, you’re honestly just a terrible person. People’s lives are being upended and destroyed. For every 1% increase in unemployment, 40,000 people die—yet some are celebrating.

Yet another reason to be glad I dropped my @acs.org membership
Rarely have I been less surprised than I am by the move of the American Chemical Society to delete its website on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Respect.

The organization that has never taken a stand on anything has continued that trend.
