Langham is basic but well worth a visit. Recently had an enjoyable meal at Hambledon which is more 'high-end'.

One of the nicest people on the planet & consistently produces an outstanding range of Chiron.
Called in on Matthieu Baudry to buy a few bottles. Ended up tasting all the 2024s, from vat, barrel and bottle. Plus a few older vintages, back to 2012. As you do. 😃 #matthieubaudry #bernardbaudry #chinon #cabernetfranc #wine

Look! A book!!!
Those kind people at Omnibus have reissued this, with a great new foreword by Roddy Doyle.
Ireland's greatest living writer *
It's out now.
I think.

*well, he is. Roddy Doyle, I mean.

All the wine recommendations are spot on. Fortunately in its way, no mention of two of my favourite producers AJ Adam & Peter Lauer.

‘I tried to be nice. Sometimes I would explode’: John Fogerty on Creedence, contracts and control
As the driving force behind Creedence Clearwater Revival, he wrote some of the 60s most enduring songs. But a poor record deal followed by years in the wilderness drove him to the brink of breakdown. Now 80, he looks back

AP's article nails it. As one of the "longstanding fans will tell you, with a mixture of weariness and fond admiration" last night was a triumph.

It is going to be a huge loss for British cycling fans. Gary Imlach has been excellent: a proper journalist willing to address the various 'issues' directly & objectively.
