I fell into a rabbit hole about Turkmenistan recently, central Asia's hermit kingdom. Spinning golden idols do feature. And then I found out about Soltan Achilova. I think it's really cool that a super repressive regime is deeply fucking scared of one old lady who tells the truth.

No, this would not have saved Veilguard. Retaining the staff who made earlier games a success and never having wasted time on live-service dev before an unwieldy pivot to boxed product would've saved Veilguard. Baffles me how these dudes seem pathologically incapable of learning the right lessons!
