Our military budget is almost $3,000 per person. Our National Weather Service was budgeted to cost less than $5 per person, but Trump's DOGE cut 30% of the budget and 17% of the staff. Now we're not prepared to warn people of looming disasters.

I received a thoughtful reply to my concerns about the GENIUS Act from Maryland Sen. Angela Alsobrooks. She helped to insert some pretty good regulatory language in the bill, but without a strong enforcement agency, stablecoins are still dangerous in my opinion.
