Being more active on BSky is more than just because cool people are here. The environment already feels that much better.
I highly recommend making the switch. Social media is about sharing a space to discuss thoughts, not to make others' thoughts fodder for an LLLm's training data.

This aligns with how I've felt about AI. Can it be a tool? Absolutely! The issue is that, as a developer, it feels like everyone wants to use it for everything. You don't build a house with a hammer alone.
if the discussions and calls I've been having lately are any indication, we're about to see significant renewed focus on developer communities. reality is setting in and companies are realizing AI is not a miracle; it's a tool, and tools are only valuable if and when people use them to build things
