My book, Accessibility For Everyone, is now free and online as a website.

accessibilityforeveryone.site

The book was first published by A Book Apart in 2017 but it holds up! It covers web accessibility for designers, developers, content folks, and really everyone who works in tech.
Accessibility For Everyone by Laura Kalbag
Read the book online for free.

That’s super interesting. I’m curious if you’ve tried Claude code or codex and how those compare to warp for that purpose?
February 11, 2026 at 2:49 PM
I'm genuinely surprised to see that after all the hype and promotion, only one person sometimes uses Warp.

I'm giving Ghostty a shot, so far so good.

We are asking developers to do more with less, including less pay. Either we have managed to cut cost without reducing output, or we have increased output, but have very little to show for it.

I'm sure there is another narrative around creating new opportunities, but I'm not hearing about those.
The average developer salary is my new GenAI signal. If it's really about developers leveraging AI and unlocking new value, then I expect salaries to increase.

If GenAI is about increasing profit margins, then I expect the average developer salary, and headcount, to decrease over time.

Totally agree with this. I don't think that courses are done for, but the bar has been significantly raised. Beginner and intermediate content is more than covered by LLMs, so you've got to put out the real secret sauce to get any takers. You're one of the best at doing this.

The waning traffic of stack overflow is good evidence of that.

And if you don't have money, properly sharing the creator's content (with attribution and linking to the source) also helps a little.

It provides some visibility and may bring people who have the money to support.
Because of AI, it's getting harder to be a public educator on the internet.

Devs are watching far fewer tutorials and buying fewer paid courses, making it financially tough for teachers.

If you like a creator's content and can spare some cash, find out how you can support them.

It's definitely a huge part of the problem. Artists, educators, journalists, developers; so much content consumed and zero intention of sharing the wealth.

While I think those of us who function as mentors or educators will do quite well in five years or so, it certainly isn't easy at the moment.

For over a year I made fun and creative tutorial courses for Prismic on YouTube.

Since the rise of AI the numbers dropped month after month. Not just our channel, but every tutorial channel.

It wasn't worth our investment anymore, so we stopped and shifted to entertainment content.
February 10, 2026 at 9:27 PM
Many devs no longer search for tutorials, but instead prompt an agent to implement a feature. Other devs might be unable to spend money due to a shitty job market.

AI trained on the educator's content and is now systematically putting them out of business.

Firewatch is a such a good game. If you’re looking for something to play and you’re happy to immerse yourself in an aesthetically beautiful story, with perhaps an even more beautiful soundtrack, this game is for you.
Today is the tenth anniversary of Firewatch's release. It remains the thing I'm most proud to have worked on. There's more of me inside of Firewatch than in any other gameβ€”and I have no doubt there are others on the team who would say the same about themselves. Thanks to everyone who ever played it.
